Center for Sports Diplomacy

Sports and politics have been intertwined throughout history. In the fight for racial equity, democracy, and social justice, countless athletes have risked their careers and security to make their voices heard.

Facing the unprecedented challenges of climate change and COVID19, the focus of this studio is to envision a new institutional typology which responds to the increasing role that sports plays in global advocacy. Located on Randall’s Island, the center will act as a diplomatic headquarters, media zone, training facility and community hub.
